Power of Productivity
The Samsung Note series, in particular, are known for their performance, the Note 10 Plus’s performance satisfies the most productive individuals.
The Samsung Note 10 Plus boasts a Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9825 chipset, depending on your region. The Samsung Note 10 Plus also hosts 12GB of RAM, and a vapor cooling chamber designed to handle today’s most intensive applications.
The Samsung Note 10 Plus’s phone has more than enough power to support Samsung’s DeX with a desktop-class experience and full browser support.
Similar to previous Galaxy Notes, the Samsung Note 10 Plus comes with many productivity features, such as Apps Edge, which lets you launch apps and shortcuts with a wipe from the edge of the curved-screen. Screen-off Memo allows you to write notes on the screen as soon as you take the S Pen out to quickly jot down notes.
The S Pen is loved by many because it increases productivity immensely. The new S Pen includes a gyroscope and accelerometer so the user can perform the new S Pen’s motion-based Air Actions. Air Actions perform media and camera controls but seem more like a gimmick because of its inconsistency. The S Pen can, however, be used as a camera shutter remote and slideshow clicker, which is still useful in the right situations.
Display and Design
The 6.8-inch Samsung Note 10 Plus screen sounds almost too big, but the actual size of the Samsung Note 10 Plus is comparable to its predecessor, the Samsung Note 9 achieved through Samsung’s new Infinity-O Display. The Infinity-O Display minimizes screen bezel to create a more immersive smartphone experience. However, it leaves a small cutout for the selfie camera at the top of the device. Yes, the camera center-aligned punch hold is less intrusive than Apple’s ‘notch,’ however, we would love to see some innovation to achieve an uninterrupted display experience.
Nevertheless, Samsung’s display is very immersive with its bright and vivid colors, a pixel-dense Quad HD+ resolution, and high peak brightness.
Samsung has made some questionable design choices this year. The Samsung Note 10 Plus is undoubtedly mesmerizing. The display is vibrant and beautiful; the back glass is elegant and refined.
The streamlined screen with only a small hold-punch camera means that Samsung had to forgo the IR scanner for quick and secure face unlock. In its place, there is a revolutionary in-screen Ultrasonic Fingerprint sensor. The sensor sends ultrasonic pules to detect the 3D ridges and valleys of your unique fingerprint.

Well-rounded and Versatile Cameras
The Samsung Note 10 Plus delivers with a total of five cameras. The four cameras on the back capture scenes with varying perspectives. The primary 12MP camera captures scenes with bright colors, as expected from Samsung photos. Low light photos look better than ever due to dedicated Night Mode, however, falls short of Night Mode offered by competitors.
The dedicated telephoto lens allows avid photo takers to capture memories up close and afar without distortion. The ultra-wide-angle lens crams more into the frame without having the user to back up to get everything in the shot.
The Samsung Note 10 Plus excels at recording videos with its ‘Super Steady’ optical image stabilization. The Samsung Note 10 Plus also includes Zoom-In Audio, amplifying the volume of the zoomed-in subject. This feature is great for an avid concert or sport game go-ers attempting to capture the audio on stage as opposed to the cheering fans beside you.
Samsung’s video editor is also a welcomed addition as it is easy to use and pairs nicely with the S Pen for fine-tuned editing.
New features such as Live Focus Video seems like it would be an excellent addition since we love getting the bokeh effect, blurring the background in photos. But the feature falls short and appears to be a filter that blurs the otherwise beautiful video.

Accepting the Status Quo
The Galaxy Note 10 Plus shares the same story as its predecessor, the Samsung Note 9. The Samsung Note 10 Plus has a slightly larger screen, beautiful glass back, but it does not feel like Samsung is pioneering new technologies. The Samsung Note models were known to feature the newest cutting edge technology, but not as of recently.
Many power users appreciate the new S pen features and love the built-in Samsung DeX for a legitimate desktop-class experience. However, for the average consumer, these new features are welcomed but under-utilized.
Samsung again misses the opportunity to be pioneers of the smartphone industry. The camera and night mode falls short of the fantastic quality delivered by its smartphone rival the Google Pixel 3. The iPhone XS’s biometric Face ID array underwhelms Samsung’s rudimentary face-unlock security. The Samsung Note 10+’s standard 60Hz refresh rate doesn’t make the screen any less beautiful to look at, but it does not rival the smooth experience of the One Plus 7 Pro’s 90Hz display. The optical zoom lens on the latest Note does not beat out Huawei P30 Pro’s superb zoom lens.
The Samsung Note 10 Plus is a refined phone, perhaps that is enough to be a strong competitor in the smartphone industry. However, accepting the status quo does not drive excitement.
The Samsung Note 10 Plus is, without a doubt, the best phone with a stylus. The latest Note is a flagship phone in every regard. Samsung plays it safe another year instead of setting the trend for every other smartphone manufacturer to copy.
